- The following are our Math practice in past few weeks. You may check with your students on whether s/he can do it or not. The important part is that students not only need to solve problems, but also need to answer how and why.
- The majority of the students are doing very well on 1.Addition, 2.Subtraction & 4. Add three numbers. However, some students still need more help on 5. Finding missing part in three numbers. Many students are struggling on 3.Finding missing part. Even if I help some students one on one, they still cannot do their worksheet by themselves with number 3’s (Finding missing part) concept. It’s not hard for students to solve problems like 1 (addition) and 2 (subtraction) since they just require math knowledge; however, on the rest of the kinds of problems where students aren’t fully grasping it yet, they must use their logic, which is a bit more challenging. I will focus on 3.Finding mission part, 4. Add three numbers, and 5. Finding missing part in three numbers in following weeks.
- We will have a parent-teacher conferences (PTC) on Wednesday (02/24/2021) and Thursday (02/25/2021) at 04:00 to 08:00 p.m. Please note that we are doing "Zoom" PTC this year.
- We have a Chinese weekly test on Thursday (02/25/2021). The homework on Wednesday (02/24/2021) is THE SAME with the test. - 10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones, called a "ten."
- The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones).
- Show groups of 10 with connecting cubes.
- The decade numbers to 100 are built on groups of ten. When there are only tens, counting by 10s can be used to find how many there are in all.
